Best&Lloyd was founded in 1840 in Birmingham, England, where all our lights are still produced today. We began life making candle lamps and, by 1900, had become the largest lighting manufacturer in the world. International status meant showrooms in London, Paris and Rome, as well as at New York’s prestigious 1 Park Avenue.

Manufacturing
We appreciate that our lights are often placed with exceptional furnishing and art and as such have to fit in seamlessly. We collaborate with artists who are technical perfectionists and unique in their fields, whether it be glassblowing, ceramics, wood or leather. The results are works of art. Some of the glass pieces weigh up to 20kilos before cutting and there are perhaps only 2 teams in the world capable of working at that weight. The leather is stitched by hand rather than machine to.
